HW Portable Testing Unit

Portable testing unit (by Whirlpool EMEA) his a embedded computing system based on PC104 architecture comprehensive of software that interfaces with Box Handler, Rule Editor and Display Result.
It allows the definition of testing rules from quality operators and execution and control of testing programs. It can be used as a portable laboratory to execute complex task of quality testing on domestic appliances.

Box handler  execute (by Whirlpool EMEA)  is a hardware unit (microPLC, embedded firmware) that interfaces with a portable testing unit and allows to interpret atomic step of actuation and data gathering from an appliance during a testing program.

Rule Editor (by Whirlpool EMEA) is an application that allows the programmation of a Portable testing Units. It’s based on a set of basic instructions that, properly sequenced, allows quality operator to define, store and put in execution testing sequence on several kind of domestic appliances.

D2Lab (Data Diagnostics Laboratory) is a framework (as a Service) for advanced big data processing, which revolutionizes the role of big data for the industry by introducing an active loop between real-time and batch processing (by NissaTech). It increases the application potential of big data approaches from resolving the problems in a process, in the detection of the opportunities for process improvement/optimization. It closes the gap between the industry needs and the available technologies for data-driven, dynamic monitoring of anomalies/usualities in real-time systems

Consultancy about autonomous energy aware production line control

This asset is POLIMI' s knowledge of energy aware control policies of operating machines and relevant material handling system which might be used to build up a production cell instantiated into a cyber-physical system (CPS), by exploiting potential of local processing and memorization capabilities together with sensors and actuators devices.

Temperature measurements and thermal compensation methodology

Orchestrator platform to integrate Field and Factory processes, data and devices

The asset (by FIncons) contains all the necessarily knowledge and components to integrate the BEinCPPS IoT platform, including the dialog with the legacy IBM ERP, SAP database and the creation of dedicated data storages and wrappers.

The asset is strictly related to the JD experimentation and can be exploited 

  • s-is to other JD production location or sites 

  • as lesson learned to other companies having the same business need and/or technological environment

Speedy Pick Air Service compatible with information bus

The “Speedy Pick Air Service” (by Fraunhofer IPA) is a software service. It enables other software services connected to the information bus to address Pick by Light units of the commercial Speedy Pick Air system. Addressing means to turn on lights of a Pick by Light unit by sending a list of IDs to the “Speedy Pick Air Service”. Furthermore, feedback is sent to other services via “Speedy Pick Air Service” in case buttons of pick by light units are pushed.

Exploitation channel

The exploitation of this asset will be carried out by selling the service to the owner of Speedy Pick Air in order to enhance his existing system

Stability experiments of information bus

Stability experiments of the information bus  (by Fraunhofer IPA) are tests to determine the availability of the service “information bus” in production. Stability experiments can give an indication about the reliability of the service as well as the effort necessary to operate the bus in production.

CPPS Engineering workflow based on 4DIAC - 4DIAC

Eclipse 4diac is a modelling tool for distributed control systems based on IEC 61499. The CPPS engineering workflow will introduce cloud resources (Virtual Machines, Docker) to the existing resources provided by 4diac.
The CPPS engineering workflow of 4diac (by FORTISS, Fraunhofer IPA) enables automation experts who are the main target group of 4diac to make use of cloud technologies. Furthermore, 4diac may be used as CPPS engineering tool with the goal to simplify the creation and deployment of CPPS by means of the modelling paradigm of IEC 61499.

Augmented Reality Application for the Smart Shopfloor (guidance and traning)

The asset (by Fincons) contains all the technical components able to realize a guidance (pick-by-vision) and confirmation system for the workers based on a dedicated application which can be consumed on mobile devices or smart glasses.

PLC Data Access on Footwear Logistic Systems

The “PLC Data Access on Footwear Logistic Systems” (by INESC TEC) is a software component that: 1) connects to a OMRON PLC device 2) reads segments of memory and translates their contents to a set of data values 3) publishes these data values in a message broker. This software component is especially dedicated to retrieve data sets from footwear internal logistic systems controlled by means of PLC devices.

Working Posts Monitor

The “Working Posts Monitor” (by KYAYA) is a software component aiming at to monitoring the running of footwear logistic systems in real time (stitching manufacturing line). It provides a dashboard graphical user interface accessible on any Internet browser. It is useful to inform the production manager about work assignment and alert it about possible delays in a given working post.

Embedded system to implement the SmartMold

This asset (by CEA and GP) is an embedded system (BeagleBoneBlack, Raspberry…) which acquires data from different sensors from the mold, stores and analyses these data on a cloud system.  It is also able to drive electric actuator such as step motor.

Exploitation channel

This asset will be dedicated to plastic companies or OEM, which means  it should be published on industrial channels.

Model-driven toolchain to design and deploy configurations for CPPS

This toolchain (by CEA and GP) is an adaptation of CEA’s modelling workbench Papyrus for the development of CPPS systems, fully compliant with RAMI 4.0; it is an open source tool built within the Eclipse software community.

RAMI 4.0-based methodology for development of CPPS

This asset (by CEA and GP)  is a methodology to guide the development of CPPS solutions following the RAMI 4.0 standard. Taking the reference architecture model as a base, it suggests a model-driven approach to design each one of the layers, proposing which modelling languages, formalisms and techniques can be employed in each step.

Exploitation channel:

The main channel to be used is referring to the BEinCPPS deliverables in upcoming projects where the methodology is to be used.
