COMPANY PROFILE
AIDIMA is the Technology Institute on Furniture, Wood, Packaging and related industries, a non-for-profit association with national and international scope that was founded in 1984. Since that moment AIDIMA has been performing very efficient research, technological development and innovation work coordinating and participating in national and European projects. Furthermore, AIDIMA's main aim is to contribute to enhance competitiveness of wood, furniture and packaging sectors, focusing on quality, market analysis, training, safety and environmental issues as well as on promoting innovation for a better business management in the fields of design, production and processes, marketing and export boosting.
Nowadays, AIDIMA is the scientific umbrella organization for more than 600 associated companies throughout Spain. Most of them are SMEs, so AIDIMA influences a significantly in this kind of companies trying to improve their competitiveness as they rely on AIDIMA. Besides its condition of industry association, AIDIMA is a technology institute and among its competences it is the knowledge transfer for most of the Spanish furniture-related companies. Moreover, AIDIMA belongs to other furniture networks, such as InnovaWood, that is an umbrella organization that integrates four European networks in the Forest, Wood-based and Furniture industries into a more effective mechanism to support innovation in these sectors.
Regarding ICT, AIDIMA has a extensive expertise developing interoperability eBusiness solutions focusing on SMEs with the goal of providing "easy-to-use solutions" for industrial users. AIDIMA has been promoting the use of standards in Spain and all over the world, leading an ISO standard for data exchange in furniture sector since 1998.
The Market Research and Business Strategy Group has been working in strategic foresight (trends) and business strategy for manufacturing companies since 2005. In the field of foresight research, AIDIMA has collaborated with leading foresight centres Worldwide: LIPSOR (Paris), Swinburne University (Melbourne), Australian Foresight Centre, Stanford University (USA) and recently Oxford Scenario University-Programs (UK). The field of expertise in strategic foresight encompasses both scenario building (with use of foresight quantitative and qualitative techniques: Delphi panel, morphological analysis, players analysis, structural analysis, FAR…) and scenario tracking (development of scenario indicators, creation of on-line scenario surveillance tools). Moreover, our expertise includes: Research and consultancy projects in strategic renewal and management innovation on the basis of competitive scenarios and business innovation and strategic resilience as practical fields or work with companies.
Other related expertise fields are the creation of industrial Competitive Intelligence Systems (Market Observatory, Trends Observatory, Consumption Annual Survey, Centre for Strategic Foresight in the Wood and Furniture Industry -CEFFOR®-), new product development, and market orientation.
MAIN TASKS OF INVOLVEMENT
In the project AIDIMA mainly will lead the Furniture Trial by conducting the experimentation and implementation of the pilot using our experience in creating living lab environments with real manufacturing companies. AIDIMA will lead the Furniture Pilot defining the user scenarios, requirements and business expectations in WP2; the business-innovation strategies, adding eco-design and CO2 footprint knowledge in the assessment. AIDIMA will lead WP10 for the all the Trials experimentation and demonstration. AIDIMA will contribute in the dissemination and exploitation activities in WP11.
